Hello! Welcome to our Nubian herd. We've chosen the Dorsey-Lane herdname to signify these lovely animals. The Dorsey-Lane name was originally used by Chris's father for his champion line of Holstein Cattle. We hope our does make him proud!
Our bloodlines are filled with Easy-Stream animals that Roger and Janice Shrum worked so hard to produce. We hope to continue in their tradition of excellence. We also have added Kastdemur blood to our lines in hopes of producing greatness! We hope you enjoy visiting our pages.

This incredible lady is Great Expectaions, known as "California" to all who've shown with her and against her. California is one of the most beautiful ladies I've ever seen. And at 8 years old is still holding onto that gorgeous mammary system! Roger and Janice Shrum purchased her as a kid and campaigned her for several years. California easily finished her CH title and went on to win 9 times Best of Breed and 12 x Best in Show. She's certainly made her mark on the Nubian breed! We're pleased to have brought her to our farm to love! California's dam Kastdemur's CPE No Excuses 4*M can be seen on the Kastdemur website. California's full sister; Excentric can also be seen on that page.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of this grand old lady. We've only had California for the past two years, during that time she made her way into our hearts. The Shrums knew her in her glory days, we knew her as a sweet, genteel old girl who was quiet on the milk stand and always ready for a hug and perhaps a cookie from your pocket. She is well represented in our herd through her daughters, grand daughters, nieces and nephews. When I went to say goodnight to everyone she was lying under the hay rack, quietly munching hay. I gave her a hug, said good night, and she never woke up. We found her the next day, still curled up in a ball. There was no suffering which is as it should be.
